As a child I was taught to trust and respect men because they would keep me safe, as a young girl I was forced to fear and hate men, and as a woman I learned to respect and love myself as I once did as a child.
It took me eleven years to allow myself to start healing and now I can look in the mirror and see a survivor, a strong survivor!

As a tennage girl i have experienced sexual violence and I have seen nothing done about it!!! It is as if people dont want to really deal with it but it happens !! I am very upset about this and want to do everything i can to get my voice heard and let other teenage girls know that they deserve the right to press charges!! I also want to help with spreading awarness in middle schools and high schols!!! I dont care how young a girl is, they all need to know how to take care of themself and not lean on other people to deal with it!! Young girls need to be aware of all their surroundings and need to listen to their gut instints!!! They need to know how to have fun in a responisble way and not try and push them selfs to grow up!! I just want girls to learn from my experience and i want them to know that they need to be careful at all times!!

I think that this mural is a wonderful concept. What a way to get the message out about sexual assault. WOW!!! I hope that this project will raise awareness and community activity to stop sexual assault and other violence from occuring.
