Full-time position, with flexibility and some travel required, to support and advance the mission, programs and services of the Clinton County Women’s Center, Inc.
Responsibilities include ascertaining Domestic and Sexual Violence education needs of medical personnel and other local systems/services in Clinton County to provide programming/outreach and prevention education to meet their needs, develop and maintain a rapport with medical providers and LGBTQ+ groups/organizations, attend Medical Advocacy Task Force meetings through the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, present at State and National Conferences as opportunities arise, prepare and disseminate education and informational materials relating to medical advocacy and LGBTQ+ Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, debrief advocates accompanying victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence to medical facilities, coordinate with staff to maintain regular social media postings, assist and participate in training of staff and prospective volunteers, provide training and community outreach to other supportive systems.
Maintain strict confidentiality standards, provide crisis intervention and/or supportive counseling to individuals in shelter as requested, advocate for individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault, provide court and hospital transportation, accompaniment and advocacy, be able to use the Protection from Abuse Database (PFAD) and assist with helping clients file pro se Protection Orders, Victim Witness information and advocacy forms, organize and facilitate LGBTQ+ education/support groups for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, serve as the primary counselor for LGBTQ+ identified clients, unless otherwise requested.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience, knowledge of general computer operations/softwares (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), valid PA Driver’s license, use of a personal vehicle, auto insurance, Act 33, 34 and 114 Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances and a Federal Criminal History Background Check.
