Hotline Support Staff – Full-Time

 

NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance) is a comprehensive victim services organization in Bucks County. With a 47-year history, NOVA has expanded to include a continuum of prevention and direct services to prevent and address the needs of victims of sexual abuse and other serious crimes. NOVA is known across many disciplines and the community at large for its exceptional services and professionalism. As a mature and fiscally sound organization, establishing sustainability is key to our future success -- serving all victims who need services, educating the community at large on violence prevention in our community, and providing top-ranked professional training.  

 

Hotline Relief SupportNOVA is hiring a full-time hotline relief counselor to join our NOVA team. This person would need to be comfortable talking with individuals on the phone about a crime or victimization that has occurred. This person would be supervised by the Director of Client Services and provide primary telephone coverage for the hotline and take and distribute accurate phone messages and provide accurate information to callers. They will also discuss with victims their needs and provide appropriate resources to which they are entitled. This person must be highly organized and be able to provide administrative support for the hotline clients by completing a weekly case review and running reports as needed to ensure the quality of work. This job is primarily based out of Jamison but there is flexibility to be virtual 2-3 days/week after it has been determined this individual can manage job responsibilities.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other relevant fields.
  • Sexual Assault Counselor (SAC) training certificate or must attend the 40-hour SAC Training at NOVA within 3-months post-hire.
  • Must be able to answer hotline during business hours M-F 9 am -5 pm.
  • Must be able to coordinate hospital accompaniment for victims.
  • Bilingual/multilingual preferred.
  • Meet all required clearances for employment (IRCA, Criminal Record Check, and FBI clearances as required by state laws and agency protocols).
