NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance) is the comprehensive victim services organization in Bucks County. With a 47- year history, NOVA has expanded to include a continuum of prevention and direct services to prevent and address the needs of victims of abuse and other serious crimes. Intake Specialist. NOVA is hiring an Intake Specialist to join our Counseling Department of 9 counselors. The Intake Specialist provides comprehensive, coordinated support and services to victims and non-offending significant others. They will also provide the initial contact for potential clients, provides case management and referrals as needed. The Intake Specialist will complete and track all assessments as needed for the wide variety of evidence-based programs the counseling department offers. The counseling department provides a continuum of trauma informed evidence-based therapeutic modalities to victims of crime and other serious crimes including sexual assault, homicide, human trafficking, fraud and other serious crimes. All of our counseling services are free to victims, and are supported by public and private dollars. Annually we serve over 650 victims in individual or group counseling. Sessions *may be provided the client’s home, community, local schools, and/or one of NOVA’s three offices.
*Note: NOVA is a designated essential service; therefore, the Counseling team is providing tele-counseling for individual and group counseling. During stage green of reopening during COVID, the staff may provide services to clients to in- office and community as needed. NOVA is planning a staged return to working in the office. NOVA is guided by the CDC recommendations and the orders of the Governor and State Health Department.
The position will require the ability to travel throughout Bucks County and assuming two evening shifts per week. Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s level required, Masters level preferred in social work, counseling, or other related field.
- At least two years of relevant direct service experience. More experience preferred.
- Fluent in Spanish a plus.
- SAC training certificate or must attend the 40-hour Sexual Assault Counselor Training at NOVA within 6-months post-hire.
- Highly values teamwork, but able to work independently.
- Experience working with client data systems a plus.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Current criminal, child abuse and FBI clearance is required before hire.
