Victim Services, Inc.: Legal Advocate Cambria County

Victim Services Inc. (VS) is seeking a passionate individual to fill the role of Legal Advocate at the Cambria County Courthouse. The Legal Advocate provides assistance, accompaniment and support in a trauma-informed, victim-centered, and culturally competent manner to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other violent crimes as they navigate the criminal or civil justice systems. This position will also work closely with the criminal justice system to strengthen the response to survivors of violence. The ideal candidate will be victim-centered and can effectively balance advocating for their clients’ needs while maintaining strong relationships with allied professionals. Extensive and ongoing training in working with survivors of crime will be provided.

Ideally, we are seeking individuals who can function somewhat independently and have the capacity to be compassionate yet resilient in the face of continued exposure to trauma. Self-care is a priority and will be an ongoing part of employment at our agency. Successful candidates must demonstrate dedication and passion for serving survivors of violence in our community.
