Reports to: SA/RCS Program Director
Primary responsibilities: Oversees case management for Sexual Assault Rape Crisis Services
- Responsible for assignment of counseling cases and requests for medical and legal accompaniments to Rape Crisis staff.
- Conducts monthly case management meetings with counseling staff to ensure that clients’ needs are being met.
- May supervise student interns assigned to the department.
- Works with the Program Director to plan and implement services to victims of sexual assault.
- Attends monthly multi-disciplinary team meeting with district attorney’s office, children and youth services, and law enforcement.
- Provides supportive counseling services to adult and child victims of sexual assault and their significant others. Co-facilitates support groups as needed.
- Displays leadership skills and provides guidance to counselor/advocates in all aspects of their jobs including interactions with clients, peers, and other professionals.
- Provides hotline back-up on a regular, rotating basis.
- In rotation with other SA/RCS staff, covers hotline in the evening and on the weekend as the staff back-up to volunteers. May cover shifts on evenings and weekends if volunteers are unavailable.
- Required to take 40 hours of training as mandated by Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR).
- Maintains strict standards of confidentiality of clients at all times, meeting PCAR standards.
- Promotes program through contacts with police departments, schools, and other agencies that refer clients to sexual assault program.
- Maintains records according to standards of funding sources and submits statistical information and reports as required.
- May provide community education programs and public relations presentations which result in increased public awareness of the problems associated with sexual assault.
13. Participates in staff meetings and Association events as required.
14. Flexible schedule required – may need to work evenings and occasional weekend hours.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling (must be license eligible)
- LSW (required), LPC (not required) , LCSW(not required)
- Counseling experience required.
- Supervision experience required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and willingness to travel as needed.
- Commitment to serving all clients in a manner which facilitates healing and empowerment.
- Has or acquires basic knowledge of YWCA computer system (Windows, Microsoft Office).
- Commitment to the YWCA mission.
