YWCA Greater Harrisburg: Crisis Advocate and Counselor

The YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s Violence Intervention and Prevention Department is adding staff! We are currently hiring for full-time Crisis Advocates and Counselors. This position will provide individual and group counseling and crisis response for victims of domestic and sexual violence. This position will also provide support groups both in-house and in the community. Two different shifts available: Sunday-Thursday (Evening hours) and Tuesday-Saturday, (Daytime hours). Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently, utilize sound judgment, respond to crisis situations in a professional manner, and balance numerous priorities and tasks at one time. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in crisis intervention is a plus. Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and prior work-related experience required. Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving history, reliable transportation and proof of insurance. Must have FBI, criminal and child abuse clearances (or the ability to obtain).
