YWCA Greater Harrisburg: Front Desk Night Monitor (Part-time)

Overnight Shift AND Evening Shift Available
The YWCA Greater Harrisburg has an immediate need for a part-time Front Desk Night Monitor to oversee the main reception areas within the emergency shelter. Hours for the Overnight Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12 a.m. - 8 a.m. Hours for the Evening Shift: Saturday and Sunday 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. Primary responsibilities include greeting all visitors and assisting them directly or connecting them with appropriate staff, operating a multi-line phone system to management incoming calls; including domestic violence/sexual assault hotline calls, and operating and monitoring security systems (cameras and doors) to ensure the safety and security of all staff and residents. Qualifications include a minimum of high school diploma or GED PLUS two years of related experience; demonstrated de-escalation and problem-solving skills to assist staff in handling a variety of situations, the ability to respond calmly and professionally to crisis calls and/or walk-ins; a sensitivity to various cultures, ethnic and social groups and the ability to actively listen and communicate with clients. Bilingual is a PLUS. Additional hours are available if interested, so flexibility is essential. Position requires criminal, child abuse and FBI clearances. Selected candidate will be required to complete sexual assault/domestic violence online training.
