Job Title: DV/SA Counselor Advocate – Medical
Reports to: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Work hours: 40 hours per week, flexibility required
Travel Expectations: Some travel, including the possibility of minimal overnight, required

Summary
To provide support to and advance the mission, programs and services of the Clinton County Women’s Center,
Inc., d/b/a Roads to Peace (CCWC-RTP) through the provision of high-quality resources and presentations to the medical community and modeling high-quality domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy and support for all clients while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
DV/SA Counselor Advocate - Medical

1. Develop and maintain communication with medical providers, including hospitals, doctors, and EMTs
2. Ascertain Domestic and Sexual Violence education needs of medical personnel throughout Clinton

County and provide programming to meet identified needs
3. Attend Medical Advocacy Roundtable meetings through PCADV
4. Prepare and disseminate education and informational materials relating to medical advocacy
5. Collaborate with Executive Director to debrief staff who accompany survivors of Domestic and Sexual

Violence to medical facilities, as needed
6. Assist and participate in training of staff and prospective volunteers
7. Serve as the primary advocate for medical accompaniment and advocacy

DV/SA Counselor Advocate
1. Maintain strict confidentiality standards
2. Serve as an advocate for the needs of individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault
3. Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, follow-up services and transportation to all survivors as needed/requested, including court and hospital transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy

4. Be registered and approved on the Protection from Abuse Database (PFAD) and assist with filling out forms, filing online, and follow-through by helping clients file Protection From Abuse and Sexual
Violence Protection Orders and Victim Witness information and advocacy

5. Attend case management and staff meetings as required
6. Document Service Efforts and Time in ETO, InSite and ETO Parallel HMIS
7. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual program reporting for grants as needed by providing relevant statistics and anecdotes
8. Document service efforts and time in ETO and Insite

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete and remain current in all trainings, relevant to essential responsibilities, and expectations required by the CCWC-RTP funding agencies
  • Serve as advocate to all clients, not just clients from underrepresented groups, as needed
  • Participate in relevant task forces, committees and meetings, including PCADV caucuses, as eligible and desired
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of the shelter, including cleaning, preparing rooms for resident arrival, intake and storage of food, personal care, cleaning supplies and other donations
  • Serve as a backup to on-call staff
  • Perform other duties as required by Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of general PC operations, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and

Google Suites

  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, use of personal vehicle, proof of appropriate auto insurance, registration required, and be available for travel as position dictates
  • Act 33 and Act 34 Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances and Act 114 Federal Criminal History
