Strengthening the Multidisciplinary Response to Sexual Assault - Part 1
Effective Sexual Assault Response Teams depend on meaningful and sustainable collaboration among law enforcement, advocacy, healthcare, prosecution, and other community partners. Yet many communities struggle to obtain consistent law enforcement participation, recruit and retain committed members, or maintain momentum when leadership, personnel, and organizational priorities change.
Drawing on more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, this webinar will examine collaboration from the perspective of both law enforcement and its community partners. Participants will explore the practical value of multidisciplinary collaboration and identify strategies for increasing law enforcement engagement and organizational buy-in.
The session will also examine how relationships, communication, leadership, and team culture influence the effectiveness of a SART or MDT. The goal is to move beyond simply getting law enforcement “to the table” and toward developing partnerships in which all disciplines recognize their role, their value to the team, and their shared responsibility for improving the response to sexual assault.
