Foundational Counseling Skills

Summary:

Participants will learn about understanding trauma, confidentiality & ethics, survivor-centered counseling skills & counseling themes. The trainers will work to connect the foundations of sexual violence and counseling with practical tools and skills advocates can use in their work. This training will also provide the opportunity for participants to meet new counselors from other PA centers!

Audience:

This training is intended for sexual assault counselors/advocates and staff that are new to their roles or may be looking to refresh their knowledge. Participants must be working at a PA rape crisis center (or dual/comprehensive center).
