Mandated Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect: Training of Trainers

Due to the nature of this training, we require registrants to complete an application process (this will be emailed to you upon registration). Applicants must show some past training experience at a sexual assault center (or an approved, similar setting). Once initial online registration is complete, you will be emailed the application to complete the registration process.
Summary:
The safety, health and protection of children is everyone's responsibility. It is essential to shift focus on the role and responsibility that adult bystanders play in the prevention, protection, and intervention of child abuse.
This training will provide participants with information on the role and legal responsibilities under the PA Child Protective Services Law as well as discuss the complexity of the dynamics of child abuse. During this three-day training, participants will have the opportunity to observe and then model the Mandated Reporter Training Curriculum. Upon completion, participants will be approved trainers of this curriculum. This opportunity is designed to help center staff focus on the importance of replicating thorough and consistent mandated reporting trainings in their own agency and their communities.
Presenters: Jaime Cypher, Stacie Scheel
Jaime Cypher is the Children's Advocacy Coordinator at PCAR. Jaime has several years’ experience working at a local center as a children’s trauma counselor and trainer of staff. Jaime’s areas of focus include mandated reporting, children’s counseling, supporting youth with problematic sexual behavior, dual youth survivor support, grief and trauma, LGBTQ inclusion, and advocate self-care.
Stacie Scheel is the Community Education Specialist for the Women’s Center of Beaver County. Throughout her 22 years with the Women’s Center, Stacie has educated thousands of students, community groups and professionals on healthy relationships, sexual assault awareness and prevention, anti-bullying behaviors, domestic violence awareness and prevention, and mandated reporting.

Debido a la naturaleza de la capacitacion, se pedira a los solicitantes que completen un proceso de solicitud para demostrar que tienen experiencia en brindar capacitacion en un centro de atencion a victimas de violencia sexual (o un entorno similar aprobado). Una vez que se complete la inscripcion, se le enviara la solicitud por correo electronico para completar el proceso de inscripcion.
Resumen:
La seguridad, la salud y la proteccion de los ninos es responsabilidad de todos. Es esencial cambiar el enfoque sobre el papel y la responsabilidad que tienen los espectadores adultos en la prevencion del abuso infantil, la proteccion de los ninos y la intervencion ante el abuso.
Esta capacitacion brindara a los participantes informacion sobre el papel y las responsabilidades legales segun la Ley de Servicios de Proteccion Infantil de Pennsylvania, y tambien abordara la complejidad de la dinamica del abuso infantil. Durante esta capacitacion de tres dias, los participantes tendran la oportunidad de observar y luego hacer un modelo del curriculo de capacitacion del denunciante obligatorio. Al completar la capacitacion, los participantes seran instructores aprobados de este curriculo. Esta oportunidad esta disenada para ayudar al personal de los centros a centrarse en la importancia de replicar las capacitaciones de denuncias obligatorias completas y consistentes en su propia entidad y en sus comunidades.

Jaime Cypher es la coordinadora de Defensa de los Ninos en la PCAR. Jaime tiene varios anos de experiencia trabajando en un centro local como consejera en materia de trauma infantil e instructora del personal. Las areas de interes de Jaime incluyen la denuncia obligatoria, el asesoramiento para ninos, el apoyo a jovenes con comportamiento sexual problematico, el apoyo dual a los jovenes sobrevivientes, el duelo y el trauma, la inclusion de la comunidad LGBTQ y la defensa del autocuidado.
Stacie Scheel es la especialista en Educacion Comunitaria del Centro de Mujeres del condado de Beaver. Durante sus 22 anos con el Centro de Mujeres, Stacie ha educado a miles de estudiantes, grupos comunitarios y profesionales acerca de las relaciones saludables, la concienciacion y la prevencion de las agresiones sexuales, los comportamientos anti-bullying, la concienciacion y la prevencion de la violencia domestica y la denuncia obligatoria.
