Podcast Guests for Male Survivor Project

Respect Together, through our divisions in the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) and the Pennsylvania Coalition to Advance Respect (PCAR), serves as the principal information and resource center regarding all aspects of sexual violence in the United States. It works to address the causes and impact of sexual violence through collaboration, prevention efforts and the distribution of resources. 

For the last ten years, NSVRC has led a project to help sexual assault (SA) advocates and programs best serve survivors who are men. Our Working with Male Survivors of Sexual Violence Project, helps SA advocates and programs:

  • understand how male socialization impacts the stigma and reaction to sexual violence,
  • consider how to reach and engage men who need healing from sexual violence,
  • map out potential partnerships in your service area,
  • give guidance on creating sexual assault services that meet the needs of male survivors.

NSVRC’s podcast, Resource on the Go, features episodes that support the male survivor project’s goals. Some episodes include:

NSVRC is looking for guests on the podcast who can talk about something related our goals that will be beneficial to advocates across the country and allow them to work better with male survivors.

Podcast episodes are approximately 30 to 45 minutes and could be presented as a two-part series if needed. Recording for the podcast is done on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. We do not post video of our podcasts. NSVRC handles all the technical aspects of the podcast, we only ask for guests to work in partnership with us for podcast content, including questions and a loose script or outline of responses.

Proposals Should Include the Following Information:

  1. Applicant name and/or agency and contact information.
  2. Description of relevant expertise and experience, who are you and why should we talk to you?
  3. Outline what you want to talk about and why it is relevant to our audience.
  4. Some questions you would like to be asked for the podcast and an overview of how you would respond.
  5. Samples if your work, written or being interviewed if you have any.
  6. Rough estimate of the total cost for your participation by the hour.
