Job Title: SA/DV Counselor Advocate -At-Risk Populations
Reports to: Co-Executive Director of Client Services
FLSA Status: Full time, non-exempt
Work hours: 40 hours a week, flexibility required
Travel Expectations: Some travel, including overnight, required
Summary
To provide support and advance the mission, programs and services of the Clinton County Women’s Center, Inc., d/b/a Roads to Peace through the delivery of high-quality sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy and support to all clients while maintaining strict confidentiality standards. This position will provide additional assistance with groups deemed at risk.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality standards.
- Document service efforts and time in ETO (Efforts to Outcomes Database System) and Payroll Time Tracking System.
- Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and follow-up services to all clients.
- Serve as an advocate for the needs of individuals impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence.
- Serve as lead advocate counselor to at-risk population survivors including youth, elderly, LGTBQ+ and clients with MH/ID in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other regulatory guidelines.
- Remain current in training around at-risk populations to act as a resource for the organization.
- Facilitate groups and workshops focusing on the needs of at-risk populations as deemed necessary.
- Participate in relevant internal and external task forces, committees, and meetings.
- Attend case management and staff meetings as required.
- Plan program activities for youth residing in the shelter including ensuring that there is a plan for monitoring children during adult support groups and resident meetings.
- Maintain certification as train-the-trainer for mandated child abuse reporting and train others on mandated child abuse reporting.
- Provide services for parents and children working with Child Advocacy Center.
- Assist with prevention education presentations as needed.
- Be registered and approved on the Protection from Abuse Database (PFAD) and assist with filling out forms, filing online, and follow-through by helping clients file pro se Protection from Abuse (PFA) and Sexual Violence Protection Orders (SVPO) and Victim Witness information and advocacy forms.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete and remain current in all trainings relevant to essential responsibilities and expectations required by the CCWC-RTP’s funding agencies. This includes the initial SAC and DVC trainings and the ongoing annual training (PCAR 6 hours, PCCD 10 hours).
- Provide transportation for clients as deemed necessary.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of the shelter, which may include cleaning, preparing rooms for resident arrival, and intake and storage of food, personal care, cleaning supplies, and other donations.
- Assist and participate in the training of staff and prospective volunteers.
- Serve as a backup to on-call personnel.
- Perform other duties as required by the Co-Executive Director of Client Services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, use of personal vehicle, proof of appropriate auto insurance and registration required.
- Successful completion of the background checks as required by our funders and CCWC-RTP.
